Marketing news has been very helpful in reporting how email is still so important to advertisers and reporting on what makes email work for their advertising campaigns. Email is something that many people have access to, and if they request the information, they read it.

Certain demographics get the majority of their news online, so email is becoming a hot topic in media news as well. When a potential customer reads a news story about a new product, and they opt in for more information, the advertising opportunities are virtually unlimited. Think about it, potential customers are choosing to be sent advertisements, they are actually requesting them. This is unprecedented.

According to a marketing news report that I found very interesting, email marketing is far more important than social marketing. Few people bother to read tweets or Facebook postings they may have missed, but most people make it a point to check any emails they have not read yet.

This makes sense, yet I missed the whole point until I read this in a media news article that was aimed toward advertising processionals. It just go to show that industry news, written in an engaging manner, is far more helpful than general news. I’m not going to waste my money any longer chasing social media customers until I have the basics of email marketing down pat.
