2/6/08:

Brian was released from the hospital today. He is extremely happy to be home and his spirits are very high. He will continue his therapy as an outpatient at ECMC three times a week.

1/28/08:

Brian's left leg is beginning to bend at the knee and at the ankle. He is eating well and re-gaining his body weight.

1/14/08:

Brian continues to progress and although this is a very slow process, there continues to be small improvements from week to week. He is getting very anxious to get home.

1/7/08:

Brian's doctor and therapists recently met with his family to discuss his progress. He is working hard and getting stronger everyday. The next goal is to get him released from the hospital and to continue his therapy as an outpatient. This could happen as early as next month.

12/31/07:

Brian has started eating mechanical soft foods and is maintaining his body weight. He is alert and working hard in therapy. Happy New Year!


12/24/07:

Brian is answering questions appropriately and speaking with more clarity. He is starting to move his fingers slightly on his left hand. The Dux Family would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

12/17/07:

Brian receives an hour each of speech, occupational, and physical therapy Monday through Friday. Doctors were pleased with the determination and work ethic shown by Brian after his first full week. He is also beginning to respond verbally to questioning.
